Convert WebP to JPG — open your images anywhere
You right-click-saved an image and got a .webp that Photoshop, your photo frame or an upload form refuses to touch. Scalir fixes that in one drag: it re-encodes WebP as standard JPG locally, in your browser, with no account and no upload. One file or a folder of hundreds — the JPGs come back in seconds and open in absolutely everything.

Where all these WebP files come from
Most big sites now serve WebP because it is smaller than JPEG — so when you save an image from the web, WebP is what lands in your downloads folder, whatever the page visually showed you. CDNs even convert on the fly: the site owner uploaded a JPG, your browser received a WebP.
That is fine until the file meets software from before the WebP era — older Photoshop, embroidery and print software, digital photo frames, or the stricter kind of upload form. Converting back to JPG is the universal escape hatch, and doing it locally means the image is never bounced through someone else's server on the way.
Turn WebP into JPG in three steps
- Drop in the WebP filesStraight from your downloads folder — single images or the whole thing at once.
- Re-encode locallyJPEG output is preset at the original size and quality 95. Transparent areas, if any, are flattened (JPG has no transparency).
- Use the JPGs anywhereEvery app, editor, form and device on earth accepts JPG. Download singles or grab the batch as a ZIP.

Frequently asked questions
Why can't I open WebP files?
WebP is a modern web format that older versions of Photoshop, some photo viewers, printing services and many upload forms still do not accept. Converting to JPG gives you a file that opens everywhere.
How do I convert WebP to JPG without installing anything?
Use Scalir in your browser: drop the WebP files on this page, hit Optimise and download your JPGs. Nothing is installed and nothing is uploaded — the conversion runs locally on your device.
Will converting WebP to JPG reduce quality?
Scalir re-encodes at quality 95 by default, which is visually indistinguishable for photos. JPG does not support transparency though — transparent areas are flattened, so convert to PNG if you need them kept. Convert WebP to PNG instead
Can I convert multiple WebP images at once?
Yes — drop in as many as you like or choose a whole folder. Files are converted in parallel across your CPU cores and you can grab everything as a single ZIP.
